![]() The time has come for you to step into your last year of high school. Even while visions of dorm rooms and college life dance in your head, it is in your best interest to decide now that you will spend this year focusing on what is, and not as much on what will be (at least for a little while longer).CLASS of 2012! How To Begin Your Transition Year with TheTransMission!
WELCOME TO YOUR TRANSITION YEAR! If you are a current high school seniors, class of 2012, you are entering into your last semester of high school and starting your Transition Year. A Transition Year, as TheTransMission calls it, is a student's last semester of high school and first semester of college. This is the period where you are most willing to learn about preparing spiritually for college and, of course, the time that you are actually applying what you have learned. Here are five ways that TheTransMission can help you prepare during this next great chapter of your life:
1. Connect to TheTransMission For the next 12+ months, this ministry will be guiding seniors into a healthy spiritual transition to college. Through curriculum, events, and online resources/opportunities. TheTransMission will guide you to college, but how will you know what we have to offer if you have not connected? Go to this link to join TheTransMission Facebook Group and click here to follow us on Twitter. These are great ways to connect to TheTransMission.
2. Learn from TheTransMission Tommy McGregor, founder of TheTransMission, has spent almost two decades helping high school seniors make a healthy spiritual transition into college. His book, Lost in Transition: Becoming Spiritually Prepared for College is the best way that we know to help you make this transition. The book will give you an accurate picture of what college will be like and help you understand what it means to take ownership over your faith in college.
3. Access TheTransMission Beginning on January 1, 2012, this website will have content (articles, video, podcast, etc) that will change every week until December 2012. This will help you with a variety of topics about starting college and continuing to grow in your walk with Christ. Those who are connected via Facebook &/or Twitter will find out about the weekly changes as they happen.
4. Serve with TheTransMission One of the keys to growing into a mature faith in Christ is to serve others. We understand that at TheTransMission and therefore are committed to helping you find opportunities to go and serve others. The way we do this is through The 25:40 Challenge. This is a challenge for graduating seniors to go out, see the world in a different way, and serve others through mission opportunities, all before going to college. This will change your life and put your life, and upcoming college experience into perspective.
5. Spread TheTransMission TheTransMission is for you...and your friends...and high school seniors everywhere! We need your help to spread the word about TheTransMission. The more students who know about us, the more we can help them transition into college. We ask that you tell them, tweet them, Facebook them, text them, and maybe even knock on their door to spread the word about TheTransMission.
